Cruising after tigers

If nature is your thing, and you want to see somewhere very different, a river expedition through the Sundarbans (pronounced Shonderbon) is highly recommended. Spread over 2500 sq miles around the Bay of Bengal, this is the Ganges Delta, the largest mangrove forest in the world and the home of the famous Bengal tiger.

The Guide Tours Ltd is a superb Bangladesh-based operation with comfortable vessels, expert guides and the home-cooked food on board is worth the trip in itself. There are lots of birds and thankfully very few insects. Go in November or February when it's dry and not too hot.
